To better understand the legacy of the Hassall family, we’re creating an interactive map that highlights significant locations connected to their story.
This map is a work in progress and will be continually updated as new locations are verified and research expands.
From the early days of missionary work in Tahiti, to foundational roles in the settlements of Parramatta and Camden, and onward to communities in Victoria, Queensland, and New Zealand—this map aims to chart a living geography of faith, perseverance, and family legacy.
Locations such as:
Missionary sites linked to Rowland and Elizabeth’s work and the London Missionary Society
Family homesteads and properties developed across New South Wales and beyond
Churches, cemeteries, and schools where generations of Hassalls served and were memorialised
Key locations featured in letters, diaries, and family records
Modern commemorations such as plaques, heritage listings, and street names
Each pin includes a short description, relevant information, and links to further reading or images.
